We are a produce co-op bringing you wholesale prices to help you stretch your budget.
How does this co-op work?
Each basket equals a "share" into the group. Each share is $17. A fruit and veggie loving family of 4-6 will most likely go through a 2 baskets in about a week and a half.
Each basket will contain fruits and vegetables. Usually 5-6 different kinds in each category. We will do our best to purchase local produce that is in season. This way, you will get more for your money.
We would like everyone to fill out a survey and submit it to us. This will give us a better idea of what to buy and what not to buy according to your families tastes. We will do our best to choose as many of your favorites as possible while still pleasing the majority.
How much will I be saving?
We estimate that you will be saving over 50% on your produce.
When and where?
Pick up days will usually be Every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 12:00 to 12:30. (for the STV site) You will pick up your baskets at our house in Skyline Ranch in San Tan Valley. Please leave a comment if you need directions and they will be emailed to you.
How do I get started?
To get started, you will need to purchase 1 laundry basket (Per share) and put your name on them. You will bring your empty one back to me, when you pay for the upcoming week. If we do not have a basket for you, We may not have anything to put your produce in.
The deadline for contributions will be Thursdays at 10 pm. (the Thursday before pick up day) No exceptions! The best way to avoid missing out, is to pay for your "next time" basket, when you pick up your "this time" basket. You may pay by cash or check. There will be a $25 fee for all bounced checks.
Who will pick up and separate the produce for us?
We will have volunteers who will drive to phoenix and get the produce for you. Because of this, there will be a $1 delivery charge already added to your total, to help compensate the gas and time used for the driver.
If you are interested in becoming a driver, please let us know. We will help to compensate you for gas and alot you, one free "share".
We will also have volunteers who will separate out the produce into your baskets. We will not be able to operate without your help. Please commit to volunteer at least once every other month. Please come a half hour early to help.
What happens if I don't pick up my basket?
If you are not able to pick up your basket, please send someone to get it for you. If you do not show up during the time slot, your basket will be donated to a family in the community in need. We will not hold your basket for you, as some of the produce will need to be refrigerated as soon as possible.
Will you have other things available besides produce?
Yes! We are always looking for great deals on other items such as breads, meats, etc. When those items become available, we will let you know and you will be able to purchase them at cost. Our dealer, often has other random items come in that you will be able to purchase.
Can we buy an extra box of certain items to be used for preserving?
Yes! We will be able to offer "items by the box" on occasion if you are interested. We will let you know when those items come up. You will not be able to purchase extra items without purchasing at least one "share" as well.
There is a possibility that on occasion we will have items the we have received that are free. If you have contributed to the co-op that week, you will be able to take advantage of receiving some of those free items.
